Recent Changes and Enhancements to this Teacher Resources Website

teacher resources

After tons of effort and time, I have finally finished!  And, as I promised on March 23, what follows is a brief synopsis of what has been accomplished.

The critical enhancements at involved…

  • converting the entire site to https (the secure form of http).
  • making the necessary changes to insure GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliance for all pages.
  • removing all Macromedia Flash content and replacing it with animated gif’s (to insure security).
  • adding the site’s Privacy Policy to all pages that request user input.  The Privacy Policy is also just a click away for any visitors who wish to read it.
  • including direct links to the Privacy Policy of critical sites linked directly to

Additional important enhancements at this website involved…

  • resizing all graphic images from fixed height and width to 100% of available space (see next bullet).
  • maximizing the visitor experience on a variety of devices, including smart phones running iOS as well as Android.
  • Adjustments were made to insure that the content is accessible in both vertical and horizontal orientations.

Design and presentation enhancements involved…

  • providing a new layout for the entire site.  I moved one narrow column from the right side of the content area to the right side of the navigation buttons on the left side of the content area.
  • adding 3 new teachers and several new kids to the header of the site.
  • reworking the text appearing in the header of the site.
  • changing the appearance of navigation buttons and headers.
  • removing 27 navigation buttons to make browsing easier (all of the content remains and is accessible through strategically placed text links).
  • providing links on all products for purchase to teachers who wish to place orders outside of the USA.

As you can well imagine, making sure all of the above was accomplished on all 122 pages of was an enormous and time-consuming process.  But, it’s done.  It’s finally done.

If you can spare a moment or two of your time, I’d be delighted to get your feedback.  As always, it’s super easy to reach me via my feedback page.

Thanks so much for visiting Tools, and especially, thank you for all you do for our kids! Thanks so much for visiting Tools, and especially, thank you for all you do for our kids!
